Turning In for the Nite

I am exhausted and think Mom and Dad are also. Everybody has gone home, but Mom and Dad keep checking in on me. The surgeon is also keeping a watchful eye on my progress. My ventilator was decreased a little, I am having very little drainage from my chest tube. The main things they are having to monitor closely are my pressure and heartrate. Dr. Gandhi has sent me to my room in a big adult size bed instead of the crib I had earlier, boy is it roomy. I think Mom and Dad have upgraded from a pull out chair and recliner to couches. And since the waiting room lights remain on 24/7, their couches are located in a darker corner of the waiting room. This is great because my Mom really needs the rest.

Madox!!! Way to go today, Buddy. You are going to wow them all with how fast you get better, aren't you? Jen & Kurt, I cannot imagine what you're going through. What I do know is that Madox needed to come down from Heaven for some reason, and God looked around for 2 very strong, loving parents who could handle this first part of his life. He knew what he was doing when He chose you two! The rest of it will all seem easy, after this!!!! Thinking of you all & loved the name picture with Cyd and Kaden! xoxo The Bergmans

Good morning Kurt and Jen, I pray that you were able to get some rest last night (in the darkest corner of the waiting room :-)! I am reliving John's 11 days in the NICU last year. Jen, I remember my days revolved entirely around PUMPING. I pray that is still going well. Know that your Paris relatives are praying fervently for you all. All our love... Amy, Morrie, and boys

I hope that is going well and I am keeping your whole family in my prayers. My niece's best friend had a son who had a pacemaker put in as soon as he was born and now he is 3 and healthy as can be. God does send the children who need extra love and care to parents that are able to handle it.

Like everyone, you have been constantly in our thoughts and prayers! I keep your blog up so I can constantly check for updates. Grandma Ratliff told me that you had a good night! Good job of not scaring your mom and dad! They needed the rest! You continue to grow stronger and before we know it, you will be up and running. I know you are going to give Gavin a run for his money!! Keep it up! We love you!

Love, Aunt Lori, Uncle Matt, Brenna and Gavin

Good morning Ratliffs! Hope your night was restful for you and little Madox. Madox, I have no idea how you are finding the strength to keep us all informed with all that is happening to you and your family, but know this, you have thousands of thoughts and prayers behind you every day for a full and speedy recovery. Remember, to have a rainbow, you must start with a little storm. I have no doubt in my mind that you will weather this storm and we're not that far away from seeing how bright your rainbow is going to be.
Lots of love,
