Keeping Them on Their Toes

OK, Dad didn't take the cool pictures where they opened up my dressings, so I could show ya all my stitches and when they took out my chest tube and my RA line. But the good news is Mom is able to hold me in her arms. Dr. Gandhi is still going to keep the pacemaker in, because he said he wants to be conservative. Mom said "you Conservative, I didn't think that was in your vocabulary". But it is a good thing he did because I started having some arrhythmias. The doctors said not to be too concerned and I still have the pacemaker to keep my heart in sinus rhythym. Unfortunately all this happened in mom's arms as the above pictures were taken, so she is a little shaken up at the moment. We will keep the information coming as soon as we know something. Love hearing from everybody.

Substantial progress since yesterday afternoon!!! He looks wonderful, great color, alert, eating from a bottle, mom held him... I am so impressed and proud of him, what a strong little guy.

I really enjoyed spending time with everyone yesterday and am so happy to read of his great progress! You guys are keeping strong along with him and that is so important.

We will be spoiling the kids again tonight. :)

Keep updating...

Great news, Madox. Don't worry about shaking up your Mom a little, if you are anything like your Dad you will be doing that for years to come.

Madox - You are just doing great! You are such a adorable and strong little guy! It's so crazy to think of all that you have went thru in the last week. Everyone is praying for you and we all know that you will be home soon with your family. I know everyone is looking forward to that especially your big brother and big sister. Tell mom you just got so excited that she got to hold you again is the only reason for the arrhythmia.

Jen and Kurt- You both have so much strength we defiantly know where Madox gets it from. Hang in there mom and dad, Madox is doing great and just keep thinking before long you be at home as a family. Our family will keep praying for everyone and keep up the strength!

Uncle Matt was of course right! I have to keep the comments coming! Madox, quit scaring your parents! And your grandparents, aunts and uncles!!! You are positively too cute for words. I can't wait to see you again and see how much you've grown up in a week. I mean how many little ones can say in a weeks time they have had open heart surgery and scared the $#^! out of their whole family???? You, little guy, have quite the power!!! Continue to keep that power and get strong! We love you!!!

There's just no stopping you little guy! If you are not hooked up to machines, your little heart skips a beat! You are very special and you, your mom and dad and sibs have TONS of loving friends and family who are looking out for you and keeping you in their thoughts and prayers, as well as me. I hope you get to go home soon, then you can get used to a whole new routine! That will still keep your mom and dad on their toes, but I am sure that your sister and brother will help them too! Stay strong and get well soon! Kurt and Jen-- hang in there, this will be over soon and you can begin your lives at home together. Stay strong for your little man and get him home well. God bless you all and get some rest, you will need that more than you know. LOVE YOU ALL!!

Little Madox, even causing problems in Sherman I see. Apparently someone tripped an alarm at the Ratliff residence, I'll let the neighbors explain that one.

Madox and family, Your uncle Jim told us about you today and we just wanted to tell you that Madox looks great and you really are in the best place. You are all in our prayers and you will be home before you know it. Oh, if you get a chance, tell Dr G that we said hi. He was on our daughters' "team" of docs almost two years ago for a transplant and he is wonderful. The Stephens

Great to hear that you're getting better and better with each update. I'm sure it felt nice and cozy to be in Mom's arms.

As for the remodeling noise, I bet you think that it's pretty normal considering you were listening to Dad and Grandpa working on the basement for 6 or so months while in utero. Trust me, that noise is long gone and has been replaced with big sister/brother and friends running and playing throughout every inch of the house.

Jen and Kurt - hang in there.
